description

The Institute of Coding (IoC) is responding to the digital skills gap in the UK by encouraging a larger, better-trained and more diverse group of people to enter higher education and proceed into roles within the tech sector. One of the main issues identified as part of the skills gap is a lack of diversity within the tech sector. Only 17% of the UK tech workforce are women and 8% of senior leaders (in general) are from a minority background. This problem starts at a young age and very few women and people from minority backgrounds are choosing higher education in computer science-related fields.
