Subtidal Sabellaria spinulosa surveys in The Wash and North Norfolk Coast SAC & Inner Dowsing, Race Bank and North Ridge SAC

The overall aim of this project is to identify and report on the extent, distribution, and quality of S. spinulosa biogenic reefs within Lynn Knock West. The results of this work will contribute to Natural England's overarching monitoring plan for S. spinulosa biogenic reef in WNNC and IDRBNR SACs, inform statutory advice on marine protected areas (MPAs), and assist in the assessment of site condition.

Working in collaboration with Natural England, the specific objectives of this contract are to undertake:

• A comprehensive acoustic survey of the area via side scan sonar (SSS), followed by analysis to identify suitable ground-truthing stations for further analysis.
• Ground-truthing surveys via drop-down video (DDV) and/or the collection of grab samples.
• Analysis of ground-truthing data to complete an assessment of reefiness.
• Processing of acoustic data to determine reef extent and distribution.
• Comprehensive reporting and provision of outputs.
