description
The purpose is to simulate various climate regimes so that the response of different potted trees can be investigated, modelled and predicted under climate change. The basic infrastructure and temperature control units have already been installed and this contract will extend the equipment such that a wider range of environmental factors can be investigated.
This involves the supply and installation of benching, lighting, roof shade screens, irrigation system, and CO2 and relative humidity control into an existing controlled environment growth house (comprising four growing compartments and one compartment with controller units). It includes sensors, control units and extension of the computer software to monitor, control and record the environmental conditions in each growing compartment.
Benching: static benches, each 3650mm wide x 760mm long with 10swg galvanised weld mesh tops.
Supplementary lighting: LED Toplights plus connection to existing computer control system; additional software added to the existing control system to control of lights based on timeclock or external radiation sum; 'Unistrut' supporting frame or equivalent
Roof screens: cloth, support wires, drive mechanisms, slipping elements, cloth guides, sealing blocks
Manual Side and Gable Screens: screens and supporting framework
Irrigation: mist propagation systems including mist controller units, wet leaf sensors, and mist bench hoops
Modification to Existing Water Pipes to install Dosatrons:
Relative humidity control: humidifiers and hygrostats
CO2 Control: pipes, valves, sensors, regulators, connections to computer controls
Upgrade to computer monitoring
