GB-Shrewsbury: Church Stretton Day Opportunities Service

Shropshire Council holds an existing contract for a day opportunities service for adults with learning disabilities operating out of Church Stretton which expires on 30.11.18.

Maximum funding for this service is £76,000 per annum.

The Council wishes to appoint a provider who has experience of providing learning disability services and who is able to deliver a quality day service from their own building based in the town of Church Stretton. An outreach service once a week is also delivered in Bishop's Castle for which a rented base has been sourced by the current provider to operate from.

Applicants should note that it is considered that the Employee 'Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations '2006 ('TUPE') may apply to this contract. Also, due to the fact that there are staff providing the service who are currently in the Local Government Pension Scheme, compliance with the provisions The Best Value Authorities Staff Transfers (Pensions) Direction 2007, in relation to the Local Government Pension Scheme (as administered by Shropshire County Pension Fund) will also be required. Applicants are advised to seek their own legal advice about the practicality of these regulations.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
