description
The BBC (on behalf of the BBC and BBC affiliates) is seeking to establish a roster of suppliers under a framework agreement (via call-offs) with pricing options to provide web performance monitoring services and associated services for the BBC’s online products and services. The performance web monitoring services will be used primarily by the BBC’s in-house teams responsible for the operation of BBC Online who carry out operational end-to-end monitoring of all of the BBC’s audience-facing online services, including monitoring the infrastructure, platform, applications and components making up these services and performance of these services as perceived by end-users, and proactively detecting events that are potentially detrimental to performance and the services. The BBC is seeking a roster of suppliers to provide a best in class, flexible, fit-for-purpose, cost-effective, on-demand web performance monitoring solution to externally monitor the performance of the BBC’s key audience-facing online products and services and content available in the United Kingdom and internationally on standard web platforms (including desktop and web mobile). Suppliers will have experience working across multiple platforms, including mobile (e.g. Apple iOS), interactive, IPTV and standard web platforms, and will have the ability to respond to rapid changes occurring in the technology market as new technology, format and devices appear and existing solutions require refreshing. The roster will replace the BBC’s existing roster for web performance monitoring and the successful suppliers will work with the BBC to configure their solution so as to provide a smooth and timely transition from the BBC’s existing suppliers. It is expected that this framework will begin in the week commencing 9th May 2016. The duration of the framework will be 24 months with an option to extend by a further 12 months.
