description
The Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy (TUCA) was established by Crossrail Limited in 2011 for the purpose of meeting the skills and training needs of the Crossrail Project. As the Crossrail programme draws to a close, TfL is keen to broaden the curriculum offer at the centre to align with training requirements related to TfL's Property Development Programme. The primary focus will be on modern methods of construction, as anticipated by the Mayor's Construction Academy (MCA).
TfL is looking for a partner to manage, run and provide courses from the TUCA facility including apprenticeship programmes. The partner organisation will be required to deliver a range of commercial courses to meet the skills needs of the infrastructure, transport and construction sectors, including current and future skills demands. Any partner must be able to offer accredited courses.
TfL will look to partner with an organisation that will prepare and publish a curriculum and associated prospectus which indicates the provision offer, training capacity, timings, courses structures, qualifications, group sizes, delivery of all courses. The partner will promote the facility as well as develop and manage the TUCA website.
In addition, the Partner Organisation will work with industry, specialist and advanced technology manufacturers and contractors to develop a range of training provision relating to infrastructure, transport and construction sectors.
The Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy (TUCA) is a purpose-built facility providing training in the key skills required to work in railway engineering, tunnel excavation and underground construction.
We are requesting engagement with the market for the upcoming innovative tender for the training facility at Ilford called TUCA. The facility offers world class training facilities for the rail network and tunnelling. As part of the Mayor's Construction Academy, the facility will also be used for training modern construction methods and support the training needs of TfL's property development programme. TfL is looking for a partner to manage part of the training facility and run courses. TFL plan to hold an online market session with on 21 August 2020.
