WP3189 - Domestic Violence & Abuse (IDVA) Support Service

The Council wishes to procure a provider with the expertise to deliver an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) service to men and women in Walsall aged over 16 who are victims of domestic violence and abuse, in accordance with current national and local policy and statutory requirements. The Service will provide a range of interventions and activities that are delivered by appropriately experienced practitioners

The service specification gives the context in which the IDVA service will operate and the contribution that they are expected to make to the lives of young children and families in Walsall.

Walsall Council Children’s Services has recognised the current increased demand and increased costs on services posed by the combination of ‘Toxic Trio’, (domestic abuse, parental substance misuse & parental mental ill health). Therefore Children’s Services has decided it will be investing to save in its workforce resulting in better help for families, reduced demand for statutory intervention and reduce the risk of children and young people becoming looked after, thereby improving the lives and outcomes of children in Walsall.

The Council is looking to appoint one supplier for this Contract.
