description
The contract is for the delivery of administration and management of Continuing Healthcare caseloads including brokerage of service user placements.
An interim contract is being directly awarded to an existing provider of local services to ensure continuity of a healthcare commissioning support function overseeing CHC placements and their administration in regard to patients eligible for Funded Nursing Care (FNC) and fully funding NHS care under the Continuing Healthcare regulations.
This temporary contract will enable Wandsworth and Merton CCGs to establish and test a singular service solution ahead of a planned competitive procurement process being planned for late summer 2018. This interim arrangement will safeguard the management of care packages for many vulnerable patients until a substantive contract can be competed and awarded for commencement from 1 April 2019.
Additional information: The interim contract is being awarded to an existing provider considered to be the only provider capable at this time. The provider already provides the service to Wandsworth CCG and the new scope of the contract includes Merton CCG in order to enable the CCGs to establish an immediate, singular approach of review, case tracking and management of NHS fully funded CHC care packages, including through the use of a common electronic records solution. The duration of this interim contract will allow Wandsworth and Merton CCGs to finalise their shared specification for the future provision of an integrated service. The CCGs plan to invite interest and engage with interested Providers from late July 2018 and intend to run an open, competitive process by September 2018 in order to award a substantive contract to commence a new service from April 2019.
