A47- Wansford to Sutton Dualling Scheme

Galliford Try, as the East Region Delivery Partner are delivering the A47- Wansford to Sutton Scheme in partnership with Highways England, by upgrading from single carriageway to a D2 dual carriageway. The project will help relieve congestion between Wansford and Sutton, approximately along 2.5km distance, to the west of Peterborough between the existing junction with the A1 and the Nene Way roundabout near Sutton.

The project is forecast to commence on site in September 2023 and will take around 2 years to complete.

Outline Scope of Works:

The purpose of the investigation is to provide information to assess the geotechnical, geo-environmental, geological and hydrogeological ground conditions. Works comprises advance of 23 trial pits, 17 boreholes, 8 CPTs, Logging of trial pits and core samples, including provision of expert geologist, Supply and installation of monitoring systems, Lab testing scope and Production of Factual GI Report and AGS data, including stratigraphy.

The estimate contract amount for this package is expected to be more than £500,000

Programme

It is anticipated that the subcontract works will commence January 2024
