description

NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of NHS England (North Midlands Staffordshire & Shropshire) (referred to as the Commissioner(s)) under joint Commissioning arrangements with Cannock Chase CCG is inviting suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver the Service(s).

Location where the contract is to be carried out: Essington Medical Centre, Hobnock Road, Essington, Staffordshire, WV11 2RF.

The surgery is located within the Cannock Chase Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) area. The local council is South Staffordshire District Council. Essington Medical Centre is a GP-led health centre which was commissioned by the former South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) in 2010. NHS England has decided to offer the contract out for re-tender, again via an APMS contract and the term will be for 5 years. There will be no option to extend beyond this period.

NHS England is seeking to identify a provider who will deliver General Medical Services for patients in Essington under an APMS contract only. It should be noted that the practice has received a CQC rating and has an overall rating of good.

The Provider will be assessed on an on-going basis to ensure they deliver the quality required.

The key objectives of the Procurement are: to commission the Service(s) to serve the Essington District Ward within South Staffordshire.

The services must be provided by GPs and Nurses and the provider will be expected to deliver:

  • a)High quality General Medical Services responsive to the needs of the local population.
  • b)Promotion of healthy living with the aim of tackling the underlying causes of ill health.
  • c)Essential services.
  • d)All Additional Services.
  • e)All Enhanced Services commissioned by NHS England, the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the local council.

It is envisaged that TUPE will apply.

Based on the current weighted list size it is anticipated that the service provision resultant of this procurement will have an annual agreement value as below:

The current weighted list size is 2,667.02

The contract price will be Global Sum plus 10% per weighted patient. This has been calculated by taking:

Global sum (currently £80.59) plus 10% = £88.64.

For the current weighted list size the contract value could be (2,667.02 multiplied by £88.64) £236,404 per annum (excluding VAT)

To apply see 'Additional Text'
