Dudley MBC invites tenders for Asbestos Removal and Ancillary Licensed Scaffolding to council owned social housing stock.

The Housing Maintenance Team (HMT) in their capacity as Principal Contractor shall carry out responsive repairs and programmed improvements as necessary. In compliance with the Working at Height Regulations 2005 and the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HMT shall instruct the appointed Contractor to erect ancillary licensed scaffolding to facilitate access for the safe removal of asbestos contaminated materials.

HMT shall also instruct the Contractor with other asbestos removal and associated works which shall include: attendance upon analysts undertaking certificates of re-occupation, asbestos stripping and removal, encapsulation, removal of hazardous waste (asbestos), some ancillary trades in conjunction with Asbestos removal works (Gas, Plumbing, Electrical and Carpentry items) and the provision of emergency and/or out of hours call out service for Asbestos Removal operative or licensed scaffold operative.

N.B. This contract may also be used by other Directorates and Divisions within the Council. Any such requests will be in writing in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract and the contract Schedule of Rates will apply to such works.
