description

The Motoring and Freight Team is looking to appoint a consultant supplier to support work that is being done to assess the need to update MOT regulations and ensure the roadworthiness of light vehicles. The Team works to ensure that our roads are kept safe and the freight keeps moving with the UK economy.

The MOT system has been in place for a long time and during that period cars have changed greatly. There have been considerable safety improvements with more warnings of problems to drivers and automation. In addition, there are new types of vehicle, in particular hybrid and electric cars.

We are seeking to procure consultancy that can provide up to date advice on road vehicle safety and environmental standards and help DfT to understand how they should be adapted to remain effective in the future
