Accommodation Based Respite Service

Staffordshire County Council wishes to invite tenders for the provision of care and support at the Accommodation Based Respite Services.

The purpose of the Service is to enable Customers who reside in the Contract Area and who are also aged seventeen(17) years and over with a Learning Disability and/or Autistic Spectrum Condition to access Accommodation Based Respite Service at a five (5) bedded residential unit in Burton-Upon-Trent and a ten (10) bedded residential unit in Cannock, Staffordshire.

The objective of the Service is to provide the best possible accommodation based respite service in accordance with the lifestyle and wishes of each individual Customer and their family, incorporating a person centred philosophy of service delivery and promoting each Customer’s ability to develop an awareness with practical application and encouragement to express their rights, inclusion, choice and independence. For the avoidance of doubt this shall include the provision of respite services for Customers with complex needs (including health needs) who may also display behaviours that challenge the service and others residing within the service.

INITIAL CONTRACT PERIOD: 2 years

OPTIONAL EXTENSION PERIOD(S): 1 year plus a further 1 year FINISH DATE (inc. extensions): 31/03/2020 TOTAL CONTRACT VALUE (inc. extensions): Up to £5.038 million CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF TENDERS: 10/12/15

Additional information: • Contract Term: 24 months with an option to extend for a year and then a further year.

• Contract Commencement: 01/04/16 to 31/03/2018 and the option to extend for one year (01/04/18 to 31/ 03 /19) and the option to extend for a further one year (01/04/19 to 31/03/20)
