description
The contract was to provide technical support on the Greening Government Commitments that sets out the targets reductions for energy and waste that central government departments and their agencies must meet. They will provide assurances and guidance to government departments to ensure accurate and reliable data is recorded against the targets.
Acquiring this data requires all 23 Government Departments, including a number of Non-Departmental Public Bodies (NDPBs) affiliated with those departments, to report statistics covering energy consumption (buildings and business travel), waste arisings, water use and other key variables.
This contract seeks to secure a contractor to collate, assure and analyse data provided by Departments on progress made against the GGC targets. The contractor will submit quarterly and annual data returns to the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
