Cefas require a desk based review of impact of climate change on assessment outcomes of CCSEG descriptors.

  • Prepare for and participate in one day workshop #2 (September 2022) with other participating members of Clean Safe Seas Evidence Group (CCSEG), provision of scientific expertise, compilation of scientific literature and reports to summarise the impact of climate change on assessment outcomes of CCSEG descriptors. One report will be compiled per descriptor by all CSSEG participants.
  • Contribution to writing up final report and presentation of outputs to Defra to complete by end of January 2023.

Cefas also require the supplier to apply models to test the outcomes of the desktop review for eutrophication.

Development of land use and climate scenarios for use in SWAT and Ecowin (August 2022). Couple outputs from SWAT to Ecowin (August 2022).

Run land use and climate change scenarios through SWAT and Ecowin (November 2022)

Evaluate the impacts of the scenarios on the eutrophication assessment outcomes for Dundrum Bay (December 2022).

Knowledge exchange with Cefas, including implementation of combined storm overflows in SWAT, coupling of catchment and coastal model outputs.

Contribution to writing up final report and presentation of outputs to Defra (January 2023).

This work is a Direct Award due to the supplier being a participant in CSSEG and this a requirement of their contribution.
