description
The early years and childcare sector has transformed and expanded significantly in the last twenty years, with the introduction of the free entitlement for 40% of 2 year olds and all 3 and 4 year olds, the development of an integrated early learning and childcare framework, and the national development of a network of children's centres. It is widely acknowledged that children who experience high quality early years provision are provided with the foundations necessary for achieving positive outcomes to support lifelong learning. As identified by the Government, 'Children's future attainment, wellbeing, happiness and resilience are profoundly affected by the quality of their experiences during early childhood. Parents are the most important influence, but high quality early education can also make a big difference to children's life chances'. (EYFS Government Review to Consultation 2011). Due to the extensive development at Loves Farm, the authority has identified a need for further early years provision which will be based at the new Community Hub on the Loves Farm housing estate.
