Highways England's Incident Management Requirements Team is part of the Customer and Operations Requirements Group and is responsible for developing, setting and embedding national standards and requirements in the area of incident management.

The proposed project aims to provide Highways England with specialist technical research and development resource in human factors, customer insight and operational incident management policy requirements and practice to explore and develop processes, tools and recommendations. This aim is to identify innovative techniques to enhance and improve current capability and make a step change in how incidents are managed on the strategic roads network and key route network.
