Home Testing Kit Storage & Transport

The Department of Health and Social Care, (DHSC), is encouraging local authorities to provide a means where eligible members of the public, can on a regular basis collect, 'Home Test Kits' from recognised collection centres within the Borough of Luton.

The DHSC, on receipt of an order form from Luton Borough Council, will deliver in volume, 'Home Test Kits' and associated, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The DHSC requires the local authority to order two weeks volume on each delivery. The volume is such that it outstrips Luton Borough Council's current storage facilities and equipment capabilities. There is also a requirement for an order fulfilment, dispatch and delivery model service to rapid testing centres operated by Luton Borough Council.

Luton Borough Council is seeking a local logistics company to carry out the functions as described above.

As this opportunity is substantially below threshold for services, and must be within the area local to Luton to facilitate quick delivery to the Rapid Testing Centres, Luton Borough Council has elected to conduct a Request for Quote process by invitation only. National Sameday Ltd and Hillson Logistics Ltd were the 2 suppliers the Council has invited to quote.
