Main Contractor Cat A & B Construction Wales.

In November 2015, the BBC entered into a 20-year Agreement for Lease with Rightacres Property Company for a new broadcasting headquarters for BBC Cymru Wales in Central Square, Cardiff. The new headquarters is located north of and directly in front of Cardiff Central Station. The building design is an important gateway image for Cardiff. The building has five storeys, plus a large basement. There are two entrances – a formal entrance on Wood Street and an entrance opposite the Station. Once inside the building staff and visitors will be able to visibly connect spaces on floors and between floors, including TV Studios. Rightacres Property Company is responsible for building the shell and core, plus part of the BBC fit-out. They have appointed ISG as their Principal Contractor for this construction work. ISG started construction works on-site in early December 2015 and are scheduled to complete their works by mid-April 2018. This appointment (Cat A & B) will procure a main contractor. This contractor will be responsible for the delivery of the main internal fit out such as suspended ceilings, mechanical & electrical services, internal surface finishes through to the fit out of the internal space to the BBC’s requirements. This will include all final finishes and branding, creation of offices space, meeting rooms, fitting out reception areas, installation of specialist lighting, fit out of kitchen areas and manage the installation of furniture.
