description

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) aims to be a modern and accountable regulator. As part of this, the FSA is considering how labelling can support our public health and consumer protection agenda, as food labels and food information have a key role to play in changing how we produce and consume food.

In order to take considered action on food labelling, the FSA needs to understand how people understand, use, read and respond to labels on food, and different aspects of this labelling.

We are therefore looking to commission a contractor to conduct a rapid evidence assessment reviewing the existing published research on consumer understanding and responses to food labelling.
