The McAuley Catholic High School ~ Tender for cleaning services

The successful supplier will be required to provide cleaning services for The McAuley Catholic High School.

The McAuley Catholic High School is an 11-18 Catholic academy which serves Doncaster and surrounding areas. We achieved academy status in May 2014. We are an oversubscribed, highly successful school that constantly strives to improve in every area of school life. Our examination results are well above the national average and as a result of this combined with our strong Catholic, Christian ethos means students thrive.

The headteacher John Rooney and key members of the senior leadership team joined the School in September 2017. He indicates; 'the values of compassion, aspiration, reconciliation, equality and stewardship (McAuley CARES) are central to how we work.

The successful supplier will be required to provide cleaning services at The McAuley Catholic High School services at both upper and lower sites, which are 0.5 miles apart, the upper site being co-located with a stand-alone 6th form centre.

The contract will commence on 1 August 2018 for a period of 3 years.

This contract will be fixed price in nature with the successful supplier also guaranteeing both the number of input hours to the contract and the quality of cleaning provision.

We are seeking a suitably experienced supplier who has current experience of working within the secondary school or HE / FE marketplace, ideally with a strong operational base within the Doncaster area, thus allowing for both adequate contract support and operational flexibility that is to be delivered to support the contract as and when required moving forwards into this contract term.

In support of the client's high expectations of the cleaning service, suppliers are required to ensure that the living wage is factored into their proposals for all cleaning employees. It is anticipated the successful supplier shall introduce a biometric sign-in system to validate and report on staff hours worked.

The scope of the contract covers all cleaning provision within both sites at The McAuley Catholic High School, which are within a half-mile radius. The successful supplier will be expected to deliver a concise and detailed method of management reporting at the end of each month thus updating the senior management team within the academy on the contract performance.

The projected cost of cleaning for the current year is circa £ 220 000 across both sites, however, it is believed that through equipment and cleaning material innovation and the effective recruitment, training and supervision of cleaning staff there is considerable opportunity for improvement.

It will be the Supplier's responsibility to obtain any necessary documents in order to submit a response by the closing date and time.

The contracting authority reserves the right not to award any or part of the contract which is the subject of this Contract Notice and reserves the right to terminate the procurement process at any time.

The contracting authority will not be liable for any costs incurred by those expressing an interest in tendering for this contract opportunity.

The contracting authority will consider variant bids, evaluating them (so far as the variant or the evaluation of the variant is in the opinion of the contracting authority practicable) on the same basis as a conforming bid, but shall not be obliged to accept any such bid in preference to a conforming bid even if the variant bid scores more highly. No variant will be considered unless the bidder simultaneously submits a conforming bid.
