Provision of 3 Cryo Tanks for PHE Porton Down

Tank 1

Culture Collections at Porton Down require a Liquid Nitrogen Cryo Storage Tank designed for storage of samples at -196 degrees C. Due to the ceiling height of the room the tank is to be placed in the total height with the lid open cannot exceed 2010 mm and the storage capacity must exceed 20,000 vials in vapour phase. The requirement is for a Statebourne Biosystem Access 24 vapour phase storage tank or equivalent.

Tanks 2 & 3.

MSD Culture Collections at Porton Down requires 2 Liquid Nitrogen Cryo Storage Tanks designed for storage of samples at -190 °C with a maximum operating temperature of -170°C at the warmest point.

The requirement is for 2 vapour phase storage tanks that are each able to accommodate a minimum of 75 stacks measuring H x W x D 720mm x 145mm x 55mm, all of which should be visible when the lid is open. The tank should have a maximum ‘lift over’ height of 1210mm, the lift over height being the external measurement from floor to top of the tank body when the lid is open.
