description
The Department for Education is committed to ensuring that schools are able to recruit appropriately to fill their teacher vacancies. We are working to grow a strong pipeline of teachers from within England and have a package of measures in place to support both recruitment of trainees and retention of existing teachers. To support these national initiatives, and as we grow the domestic pipeline of teachers, we have instigated some international recruitment initiatives. NCTL is seeking to work with experienced service providers (up to three) in the coming term, to work closely with school leaders. They will support schools in selecting and recruiting suitable teachers from an established overseas candidate pool. The service will include, providing expert communications and guidance to schools and selected candidates in respect to the recruitment process, in line with the model agreed for international teacher initiatives. Service providers may be called upon to deliver activities, which will encourage school registration to international teacher initiatives; this may include but not limited to, attendance at events and seminars to promote opportunities and engagement with school networks.
