PP15068 - Befriending Service (Vulnerable Women's Outreach)

The City of Wolverhampton Council is inviting bids for a new befriending service for vulnerable women. This service will assertively reach out to vulnerable women of all ages for whom, should they get pregnant, there could be potential safeguarding issues for the child. Its overarching aim is to reduce the numbers of Looked After Children with a specific focus on reducing the numbers of repeat removals.

The Service will achieve this by providing support, of a befriending nature, to vulnerable women. This is so that should they get pregnant or be pregnant, the woman’s chances of keeping her child are improved.

We would actively welcome bids from strategic partnerships formed across more than one organisation if it means women have access to a greater pool of expertise. In this instance we would expect there to be a lead organisation who is the main signatory for the contract with the partner organisations named therein.
