description
NHS Doncaster CCG currently commissions a community based colposcopy service which offers investigation, diagnostic facilities and treatment primarily for those women found to have abnormal samples as part of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme. The service provides a community alternative to hospital for patients registered in one region of Doncaster and is contracted via a Local Enhanced Service. Abnormal results from the NHS Cervical Screening Programme for patients in the region are automatically forwarded onto the provider who provides the colposcopy service in line with the NHSCSP and British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) standards and guidance .
The CCG is considering commissioning an expanded community colposcopy service that would be available to patients across all of Doncaster and are seeking initial expressions of interest from providers who may have the capability and capacity required in order to assess the feasibility of this.
The existing service covers a population of just under 70,000 patients with an estimated (based on extrapolating the April 2016 to January 2017 data) 220 individual patients having a colposcopy and/or procedure in the 2016/17 financial year. If this same activity was consistent across all of Doncaster, we would expect this to approximate to 1000 individual patients in a year.
Interested providers should send an expression of interest to HealthcareProcurement@doncasterccg.nhs.uk.
Closing date for expressions of interest is 5.00pm Friday 16th June 2017.
