NHS England Dental E-Referral System

NHS England North Midlands, seek competitive offers for the supply, installation and management of a dental portal accepting approximately 3000 referrals per annum. This is a 17 month proof of concept pilot.

The portal will manage all minor oral surgery referrals for NHS dental services within Nottingham North & East, Nottingham West and Rushcliffe CCGs. The overall aims of the service are to: • Provide clinicians with a single mechanism to refer patients that require specialist and specialised NHS dental services; • Improve the quality of referrals in order to support effective triage; • Enable patients to access care that is most suited to their needs; • Improve the efficiency of the referral process; • Provide accurate referral information to support clinical service evaluation and development; and • Achieve value for money.

NHS England welcomes interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers with the necessary capacity and capability (or a demonstrable ability to provide the necessary capacity and capability within the requisite timescale to provide the Dental Electronic Referral Portal as set out in the Service Specification contained in the ITT in a safe and effective manner.
