description
The Tri-borough Clinical Commissioning Groups of NHS Central London, NHS Hammersmith and Fulham and NHS West London are consulting on proposals to procure Strength and Balance Service as part of the falls prevention pathway.
The CCGs envisage a service that will be accessible, competently delivered and integrate with the community falls prevention services. The service will aim to:
| • | Help patients achieve improved quality of life, social function and dignity. |
| • | Promote patient’s ability and confidence around self-management of postural stability, especially for those people that have experienced a fall. |
| • | Identify, where safe and appropriate to do so people who have fallen and have not accessed any sort of falls related service. |
| • | Offer strength and balance classes within the user’s borough of residence (including a minimum number of venues per CCG). |
| • | Improve the ability and confidence of community champions to deliver effective chair based exercise classes. |
The CCG anticipates awarding a contract for 2 years to the appointed provider with the option to extend for a further 2 years at the CCG’s discretion. The expected service commencement date is 1st April 2017. The total value of the contract over 2 years is estimated at £252,000.
Draft versions of the Service Specification and Memorandum of Information are attached and available to download along with a Market Engagement Questionnaire for your completion and return.
