description

The fire alarm at BSH is beyond repair and needs to be fixed. In testing there is a more than a reasonable chance that the fire alarm will be activated and cannot then be silenced: parts can no longer be sourced for this unit.

A tender was held earlier in the year but only one return was received. A specialist firm to understand the intricacies of the building was sent as the property was then thought to be at risk. Following their investigations the alarm that's being offered is suitable for historic properties as its wireless at the sensor point and will provide an excellent cover for the building.

BSH is located in the heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne and as such needs to protected, medieval in origin, its vulnerable to fire due to it being of wooden construction and the location next to numerous restaurants and bars. It is Grade I listed and open to the public.
