description

Most street lighting on NH’s Network is un-metered, which means that electricity supplier billing (approximately £40m per year) is based upon lighting inventory data.

Estates & Facilities introduced Alloy in 2020 as a replacement to the legacy Street Lighting Database (SLD). This was to address resilience and functional concerns

regarding the continued use of SLD.

Alloy is used to manage and administrate changes to the company’s lighting asset inventory data. For example, accurate reporting of LED lighting installation will result

in lower carbon usage and reduced energy billing costs. It is also the initial data source for results from the national streetlighting survey currently ongoing, it is critical this service can continue.
