Area 14_600893_ Pavement Investigation Survey

The principle objective of this project is to undertake various surveys which shall assess the condition of the existing asset and determine the construction, to support the development of treatment options for scheme works.

The survey work consists of pavement investigation as per the four individual sites:

1. A1M J56 (Barton) SB Bridge decks

OSGR 421888, 508389 - 421729, 508094

Coring through HS, L1 & L2 approx. length 200m. Cores to be taken at 50m centres and staggered across all lanes from chevrons to northern bridge deck. Additional cores to be taken from any defects discovered on site.

FWD survey throughout all lanes of full extents.

2. A1M J60 (Bradbury) SB exit slip

OSGR 431668, 528732

Survey through both lanes of slip exit slip approx. total length 460m

Cores to be taken at 50m centres staggered across both lanes. Additional cores to be taken throughout defects, paying particular attention to the top 100m of the slip road.

DCPs to be taken at frequency of 1:2 cores.

FWD survey to be undertaken from carriageway accessible by traffic management.

3. A1M J62 (Carville) - J61 (Bowburn)

OSGR 430418, 544390 - 431003, 537364

Survey through all running lanes of the southbound carriageway. Approx total length 15,977m (7,446m L1 & L2; 1,085m climbing lane)

Cores to be taken at 100m centres and staggered across lanes. Additional cores to be taken from any defects discovered on site.

FWD across all running lanes.

4. A1M J64 (Washington) NB Entry slip

OSGR 428534, 554563 - 428347, 554548

Survey along entry slip approx. total length 500m.

Cores to be taken at 50m centres. Additional cores to be taken from any defects discovered on site.

FWD survey to be undertaken from carriageway accessible by traffic management.
