description
Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (Arden & GEM CSU) on behalf of NHS England Midlands & East (East) would like to invite providers to attend a Market Engagement Event which will inform the market of the intentions to re-procure Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) at two practices in Essex;
| • | St Lawrence Medical Practice, 4 Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9AA |
| • | Silver End Surgery, Broadway, Silver End, Witham, Essex, CM8 3RQ. |
The procurement will be lotted and each practice will be one lot. Bidders can bid for one or both of the above lots within this procurement tendering opportunity.
The expectations are that these services will offer increased patient access and funding will be linked to KPI achievement within the current budgets. The successful provider(s) will need to demonstrate that they can deliver continuously high-quality services and will be responsive to the needs of the local populations. Provider(s) will be assessed on an on-going basis to ensure they deliver the high-quality services required.
These services must be provided by GPs and nurses and the Provider(s) will be expected to:
| • | deliver primary care services which will be accessible, convenient and responsive, |
| • | design services around the needs of patients and carers, ensuring they are offered more choice and a greater say in their treatment, |
| • | have processes in place to evaluate and continually improve on patient satisfaction, |
| • | have processes in place to engage effectively with the local communities, |
| • | participate in Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), |
| • | provide a range of Enhanced Services, remunerated in line with the relevant Directions and specified by the commissioner on an annual basis. |
This opportunity will be open to the entire market. Bids will be accepted from current providers bidding to run either / or both of the services advertised. Bids will be accepted from current providers proposing to run the contract(s) in effect as a branch surgery to their current practices, and evaluated as any other bid in line with the evaluation criteria published. It should be noted that as both contracts being procured will be run under an APMS contract and it will not be possible to vary an existing contract to include as a branch surgery. Further information about the contracts will be given at the event.
It is intended that a procurement process will commence at the end of October 2015 with a view for the services to commence on the 1st June 2016.
Additional information: The Market Engagement Event will take place on 22nd October 2015 in Chelmsford. Further details will be provided to delegates nearer the time of the event.
The Market Engagement Event will provide:
| • | an overview of the services to be provided |
| • | details of the anticipated contract type, length and particular conditions |
| • | an overview of the procurement process and the anticipated timeline |
| • | a “MINI-PROCUREMENT MASTERCLASS” with guidance and tips on tender writing and an opportunity to ask questions on an individual basis. |
Places are strictly limited therefore reservations are limited to no more than 2 persons per organisation.
