description

The aim of this research project is to establish the current position regarding the use of the flow cytometry technique for measuring the microbial water quality of water intended for human consumption across the water industry in England and Wales.

The potential use of this promising technique to supplement both operational and regulatory monitoring will be investigated and any potential limitations of the method reported. Potential future development of the methodology to monitor for specific pathogens will also be investigated.
