description
North & West Reading and South Reading CCGs in collaboration with Reading Borough Council are considering going out to tender for a service to provide an exercise campaign promoting healthier lifestyles for people of all ages in the communities of Reading, Burghfield, Mortimer, Pangbourne and Theale. The service (at a minimum) must be able to:
| • | Identify a physical activity concept which would turn Reading and the surrounding villages of Burghfield, Mortimer, Pangbourne and Theale into an ‘event/game’ for 6-8 weeks in Spring/Summer 2016. It is anticipated that the concept could commence prior to the school term ending. |
| • | The concept must be aimed at primary and secondary School children (including parents, carers and their wider family members), local businesses, GP practices (particularly patients with Long Term Conditions) and voluntary organisations. |
| • | Have a mass participation element that would engage all age groups and cultural groups within the community and be accessible to those with a disability. |
| • | Be willing to work with a range of stakeholders to build up knowledge and awareness of the ‘event/game’ i.e. GP practices, libraries, council staff etc… |
| • | Identify locations to act as ‘touch points’ in Reading and the surrounding villages that would become part of the ‘event/game’ concept. |
| • | Be able to record participant’s attendance at these locations electronically without requiring on-site attendance of staff. |
| • | Propose a mass media & awareness/marketing/PR campaign to support the concept. |
| • | Project manage the implementation of the ‘event/game’ including the risk assessment of locations, ensuring all health and safety requirements are met. |
| • | Propose suitable technology that would track participants’ activity levels for the 6-8 week duration, and give the CCG and the Council access to the progress of participants throughout the duration of the event/game. |
| • | Have a self-registration system for participants to register their involvement/details. |
| • | Conduct a detailed evaluation and analysis of the success of the concept. |
| • | Submit a detailed project plan |
| • | Be within budget of £127,650 |
If you would be interested in providing the service, please send an email to Lauren Towner on lauren.towner@nhs.net and further details will be sent accordingly.
All expressions of interest must be received by Monday 21st December 2015.
