description

Highways England is looking to set up a contract for provision of services to continue to build upon previous research that has been conducted to enable the collision files in relation to fatal collision on the SRN over the next 3 years to be obtained, stored, coded and analysed and added to the previous year's files. This will expand on the findings and will provide a much stronger statistical basis for investment to deliver the recommended countermeasures that will prevent future fatalities as a result of a road traffic collision on the SRN. It will also enable the evaluation of previously recommended countermeasures to ascertain success.

This data set will also be used to support the wider DfT Fatal Collision Investigation Pilot project to establish the feasibility of setting up an independent branch.
