description
The Department wishes to appoint up to 15 external high-calibre finance professionals as SEND Financial Advisers (SFAs) to provide tailored advice and support to selected local authorities across England. Each adviser will be expected to deliver a minimum of 30 days of support per annum.
The primary role of the Adviser will be to provide dedicated support to individual local authorities with growing DSG deficits, working closely with SEND practice Advisers, such that the local authority is enabled to sustainably deliver the best possible outcomes for their children and young people with SEND. The Financial Adviser will work with identified local authorities to identify underlying drivers of high spend and poor outcomes, and develop, in partnership with Practice Advisers, reforms and change strategies that enable effective management of their high needs system.
Successful bidders will be offered an initial 12 month contract with the opportunity of up to a further 2 years in contract extensions.
