Repair the defects identified in the attached Detailed Examination Report dated 02.12.21:

ARCH VOUSSOIRS

  • Scabble back voussoir stone to at East crown and rebuild with colour matched Lithomex (or similar) to a weathered finish. Photo 20.

Rake out and repoint isolated open joints and perished pointing approx, 1.0m2 open 15mm x 150mm deep max. Photos No. 17 to 22.

ARCH

  • Wet, damp and water stained at random areas. Widespread patches of minor pointing defects approx, 8.0m2 total area. Isolated patches of deep open joints to the crown and haunch areas approx, 3.0m2 total area open 10mm x 100mm deep max. Isolated patches of facial spalling to several stones approx, 0.5m2 total area x 110mm deep max. Photos No. 5, 6, 23 & 24.

SPANDRELS

  • Northeast spandrel. Rake out and repoint isolated patches of deep open joints to the face and around the portal approx, 0.5m2 open 10mm x 150mm deep. Photo No. 25.
  • Northwest spandrel. Rake out and repoint odd patches of deep open joints to the face and around the portal approx, 0.5m2 open 10mm x 100mm deep. Photo No. 26.
  • Southeast spandrel. Remove previous brickwork, cement rendering and pointing repairs which are in a poor condition (Photo 28) and repair with stone approx, 1.0m2 x 75mm max. Photos No. 27 & 28.

ABUTMENTS

  • North Abutment. Rake out and repoint isolated patches of spalling to the face and springer courses approx, 0.5m2 x 110mm deep max. Photo No.7.
  • South Abutment. Rake out and repoint isolated patches of spalling to the face and springer courses approx, 1.0m2 x 110mm deep max. Photos No. 8 & 30.

WING WALLS

  • Northeast wing wall. Rake out and repoint widespread pointing defects to the face and around the brick repairs approx, 2.0m2 x 120mm deep max. Photo 31.
  • Northwest wing wall. Rake out and repoint widespread pointing defects to the face and around the repairs approx, 1.0m2 x 120mm deep max. Photo 33.
  • Southeast wing wall. Rake out and repoint widespread pointing defects to the face and around the repairs approx, 1.5m2 x 170mm deep max. Photo 35. Remove previous brickwork and pointing repairs which are in a poor condition (Photo 35) and repair with Lithomex (or similar) approx, 0.5m2 x 75mm max. Photo 35.
  • Southwest wing wall. Remove vegetation and loose stone and repair with Lithomex (or similar) approx, 1.0m2 x 75mm deep max. Photo 37. Remove loose stone to 3 no. stones on wing wall return and repair with Lithomex. Photo 38.

PARAPETS

  • Remove grass and light vegetation growing throughout the internal and external faces of both walls and repoint.
