The Wirral Alcohol Inquiry will identify and engage with 20 Wirral residents with the purpose of empowering and enabling them to articulate an informed view of the actions that individuals, the community, the Council and other stakeholders should support and adopt to reduce alcohol related harm in Wirral. This project will initiate and encourage discussion and debate about alcohol and the problems it causes as a way of deepening people's understanding and appreciation of the issues and reaching informed conclusions about how these might be tackled at different levels (personally, community-wide, nationally). This is a key piece of insight work to inform the development of a new alcohol strategy for the borough as outlined in the Council Plan, with particular reference to the priority to help local people lead healthier lives.
