Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS England (North Midlands) and Mansfield and Ashfield CCG are looking to tender GP Services (APMS) for Kirkby Community Primary Care Centre. It is anticipated that the contract shall run from 1 October 2017 until 30 September 2020 with an option to extend up to a further two years. The anticipated contract value is £1.38m over 3 year contract and £923k for the additional two years (excluding QOF and Enhanced Services).
The practice is located within the Ashfield Health Village within Kirkby in Ashfield and is open 5 days a week from 8am until 6.30pm, with extended opening offered in accordance with patient needs.
The practice has 5,600 registered patients and it is anticipated that this will grow at a steady rate. The practice is located within a NHS Property Services building which was a former community hospital building.
The services must be provided be led by GPs and supported by an appropriate skill-mix. The provider will be expected to deliver:
| • | High quality primary medical services responsive to the needs of the local population. |
| • | Promote of healthy living with the aim of tackling the underlying causes of ill health. |
| • | Essential services as described in the General Medical Services Regulations. |
| • | All additional services as described in the General Medical Services Regulations. |
| • | All Enhanced Services commissioned by NHS England, the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the local authority. |
| • | A commitment to extended access in line with national and local strategy for primary medical services. |
| • | Actively collaborating with other practices to ensure that the local population has access to a full and comprehensive range of primary care services in line with the primary care strategy, covering a population of between 30,000 and 60,000. |
The Kirkby Community Primary Care Centre was, in November 2015, rated 'Inadequate' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The practice is currently being run under a caretaking arrangement with an on-going commitment to quality improvement.
Additional information: NHS England is seeking expressions of interest from providers who may be interested in tendering for the service. A market engagement event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 24th January 2017 from 09.30am - 11.00am at Ransom Wood Business Park, Southwell Road West, Rainworth, Nottinghamshire, NG21 0HJ. Places are strictly limited and therefore reservations are limited to no more than 2 persons per organisation. - This is purely a market engagement exercise with to gather facts on potential providers and NHS England reserves the right not to undertake the procurement.
- The subsequent procurement will be advertised separately (it is anticipated this will be mid-February 2017) and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement as and when published.
