description

Geotech Drainage Management Service (GDMS) is a standalone system and will require the drainage data migration and functional configuration to support drainage management.

The services will ensure National Highways (NH) maintains the capability to manage our drainage asset and secures the inventory, condition and asset performance data.

Without the asset system the following risks could occur:

  • Reduced compliance with the operating license and commitments made for the Road Investment Strategy2 (RIS2)
  • Lack of compliance with The Water Environment (Water Framework Directive) (England and Wales) Regulations 2017
  • Lack of compliance with the Construction Design and Management CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Lack of the ability to prepare a data-driven business case for Road Investment Startegy3 (RIS3)
  • Lack of the ability to report drainage performance indicators during RIS2.

Services include:

  • Requirements Assurance project group - Business Analyst
  • Data Assurance project group - Drainage data Specialist
  • Test Assurance project group - Test Lead

Previously services resources have provided support to NH to review the landscape of requirements for the GDMS project and to develop a requirements assurance approach to ensure that the delivery supplier is providing demonstrable evidence to NH that all their contractual requirements are being fulfilled. This work concluded, which was to:

  • Define requirement owners for all requirements in scope.
  • Identify and agree requirements delivery phase.
  • Undertake Phase 12 retrospective requirements assurance review with options and recommendation paper.
  • Own and lead Phase 13 requirements assurance leading through the Requirements Assurance project group.

As the project is now 2 years into a 3-year Programme, NH have a need for continuation of services:

  • to own and manage the Requirements,
  • Provide assurance to NH on project progress, risks and issues are being maintained.
  • Data and Testing Assurance process,
  • to support the Supplier to demonstrate that it meets its contractual obligations in the delivery of requirements.
