This voluntary notice has been placed for advertising purposes only to inform the market of the opportunity to provide 30+Mbps Next Generation Access services and infrastructure in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Public sector investment of up to a total of £14m is expected to be sourced from the UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Cornwall Council and the European Structural and Investment Funds programme for 2014 to 2020 in England. It is intended that a competition will be held to identify the preferred private sector investor(s).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
An Open Market Review to establish existing and planned (next 3 years) commercial coverage of broadband services across Cornwall by all existing, and any prospective, NGA broadband infrastructure providers, is expected to be issued during June 2016. This will identify the Intervention Area in scope for further investment.
Cornwall Council intends to hold an information day on the contract opportunity in Cornwall on Friday 8 July.
The information day will be an open forum to allow all interested parties to engage with key stakeholders on the provision of a solution to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. To register interest in attending the information day please contact: broadband@cornwall.gov.uk.
