description

Highways England is looking for the provision of technical support services to provide technical assurance and advice, including the review of Departures from Standards and applications for non-prescribed traffic signs Authorisations.

The Safer Roads Design (SRD) team provides advice, technical assurance and governance, covering road geometry, traffic signs and road markings and traffic sign/signal gantry positioning, to scheme project managers and designers for all types of Highways England road projects. The team also provides recommendations on departures from standards and reviews applications for non-prescribed traffic signs prior to submission to the Department for Transport (DfT) for authorisation by the Secretary of State for Transport.

Due to the limited availability of specialist resources in the SRD team, there is a need for additional specialist professional engineering resource to assist in the delivery of this varied workload through three discrete sub-tasks.
