ACCREDITED PROVIDER OF NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (NPQs)

We want to make sure that there are enough top leaders across the country and, in particular, in our most challenging schools and areas. That's why we are delighted to have selected 41 leading providers to deliver the new and improved National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) for school leaders.

We have worked closely with experts from the educational and other sectors to update and improve the NPQs, to give teachers what they need to be top class leaders - including a stronger emphasis on financial and risk management and improvement strategies for schools and staff.

The new, gold standard NPQs cover the full range of leadership roles in today's school system, including, for the first time, a National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL) for MAT leaders and executive headteachers.

The new NPQs give the best providers more control over leadership professional development. Working within flexible frameworks, the new providers will design, deliver, and assess one or more of the new NPQs, giving them more freedom to meet the needs of the participants, through specialised content and delivery methods.

Additional information: Contract Start Date: Starting in the 2017 to 2018 academic year.

Contract End Date: An Accreditation Agreement with the right to provide NPQ courses from the 3 years starting in the 2017 to 2018 academic year will be issued to successful applicants with annual break clauses.

Estimated value or range of values: Providers will not be paid by the DfE for operating under an Accreditation Agreement. However, providers accredited by way of an Accreditation Agreement will be able to charge participants who attend the NPQs courses they provide.
