description
The Ministry of Justice expects to put in place a contract for the Provision of Surety Bonds covering the performance of deputies appointed by the Court of Protection.
The aim is to appoint a single provider who will administer and manage the Surety Bonds, including appointing an appropriate insurer to act in relation to the provision of Surety Bonds.
Where the Court of Protection appoints a deputy it may require a surety bond to be in place for the protection of the person's property and / or finances. The surety bonds is a guarantee to pay any financial losses arising from the deputy's failure to fulfil their agreed duty. The Court of Protection decides the value of the Surety Bond.
