Expression of Interest for Palliative, Short Break & EOL services for Children & Young People with a Life Limiting Condition

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU), on behalf of NHS Nottingham & Nottinghamshire (referred to as the Commissioner), is seeking to establish Palliative, Short Break & EOL services for Children & Young People with a Life Limiting Condition and are inviting interested providers to submit their Expression of Interest for this service.

The service shall provide short break, palliative, end of life care and symptom control for children and young people who have life-limiting, life-threatening and complex needs including technology dependency. It should be available to children/young people between 0-25 years. Care will need to be provided on a minimum 1:1 ratio during early and late shifts according to need and reviewed as required overnight.

The Commissioner would like to identify voluntary sector providers who are interested in delivering these services in accordance with the specification.

The Commissioner is looking to gauge the potential market interest for providing these services and would like to hear from suitably qualified and experienced providers with the necessary capacity and capability.

Providers willing to Express an Interest will be required to respond to a series of questions which are scored on a "Pass/Fail" basis. The scoring criteria for each question is stipulated within the question. Only providers who score a "Pass" on all "Pass/Fail" questions will be deemed compliant & capable. Depending on the outcome of the Expressions of Interest, the Commissioner reserves the right to direct award to provider(s) with no further competition where there is a single provider expressing an interest and scores a "Pass" on all "Pass/Fail" questions.. Depending on the number of providers who Express an Interest and score a "Pass" on all "Pass/Fail" questions, then the Commissioner may seek to undertake a Provider selection process.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 16:00 on the 4th May 2021. No expressions of interest after this time will be accepted.
