description

The Strategic Road Network Initial Report (SRN IR) is the first document in a series of products that are created over the road period to set out an objective, evidenced vision (with options) for the SRN over the next Road Period. It will reflect the longer term strategic priorities identified by the Client, Government, ORR, Transport Focus and other stakeholders. As such the overall objective is that the Client agrees a RIS that meets the Government's long-term strategy and the needs of its Customers and Stakeholders which is deliverable and allow the Client to continue to effectively deliver their licence duties.

The setting of a RIS requires significant effort and co-ordination of many activities across the business. A co-ordinated and assured programme is vital to ensure that a RIS meets The Client's and DfT requirements, including those set out in the Licence and Framework documents.

An existing RPMO function developed for RIS2 will be utilised to continue to engage and co-ordinate the business. However, due to unforeseen circumstances delay critical work packages the Client is looking to acquire access to specialist expertise and support for an 8-week period to support the delivery of specialist work packages which have been delayed preventing further delays to the successful running of the programme.
