Quotations are invited for the provision of a Brussels based support function to support the activities of the new Northamptonshire International Unit which has been established by Northamptonshire County Council and the University of Northampton.
The aim of the Northamptonshire International Unit (NIU) is to establish Northamptonshire as a European and Global centre of excellence in ‘place-based’ commissioning, delivery and learning and ‘smart city’ development. It is also aligns with the County Council’s move to a ‘Next Generation Council’ and University’s Changemaker challenges as part of the 2015-2020 Strategic Plan.
The specific objectives of the Unit are to:
| • | Secure funding to deliver key strategic priorities of the two partner organisations |
| • | Explore innovative commissioning and delivery of place-based services |
| • | Attract new research and innovation-based opportunities |
| • | Develop and maintain a shared research platform and capacity |
| • | Learn from and share best practice |
| • | Align resources and planning on research and innovation activities |
| • | Deliver added value |
We are seeking the provision of Brussels based support to help deliver the objectives of the NIU. Specifically responses to this proposal should demonstrate how they will:
| - | Strengthen the presence of Northamptonshire in Brussels – to include direct contact with MEPs , EC relevant European networks and agencies |
| - | Provide tailored communications to the NIU team on European funding calls and identify and prioritise along with NIU the target funding areas |
| - | Undertake Partner searches and attend and organise brokerage events for partners |
| - | Provide technical support on bid writing – this will involve supporting and contributing to the content of proposals where UoN or NCC are partners |
| - | Be proactive in promoting Northamptonshire - specifically in relation to the focus of the NIU |
| - | Support the broader objectives and work plan of the NIU |

Additional information: Please note: The project has a maximum budget of up to £25,000 per annum (to be agreed) exclusive of VAT. This budget must include all travel / subsistence and expenses. Please indicate in your response hourly and/or daily rates as applicable.
