Delivery of Incubation Support for Innovation Projects

Incubation Support will focus on identifying skills and knowledge gaps within a company that may prevent it from bringing the innovation to market effectively and provide specialist advisors to support the company in the development of the appropriate knowledge and skills.

The business incubation support must demonstrate a unique and highly flexible combination of business development processes, infrastructure and people that can nurture new and small business by helping them to survive and grow through the early stages of development.

The incubation plans will have already been developed by others and the supplier is expected to use existing tools and models put in place by the ‘coordinator’. The nominated supplier will also be integrated into a pool of suppliers, and expected to work with a co-ordinator.

Suppliers have the opportunity to bid for any LOTS or all LOTS.

Additional information: 30/11/15: Lots 2,3 & 4 were originally let to Carbon Limiting Technologies. They were tendered as separate lots as each is for incubation support in a different energy technology area.

-Each contract was extended by £33,000 to extend incubation support to 3 new companies who are in receipt of an innovation grant (1 for each contract/technology area)

-This will increase the value of the contracts as follows: Lot 2: £99,600 – an increase of 49%; Lot 3 –£132,900 – an increase of 33%; Lot 4 - £132,900 – an increase of 33% - the original OJEU ITT stated:

• “At this stage the precise volume of work and specific area of work is unknown (although it is likely that the tasks will fall into the one of the above categories (listed A-I above)), as the individual scoping of the incubation support tasks is wholly dependent on the preliminary incubation assessment and the incubation plan. The maximum number of projects in each LOT will be five”. [the resulting contracts currently each have 3 or less projects; the increase will take them to a maximum of 4 projects]

-This is the first request for an extension to these contracts.

-When the contracts were originally drawn up, £33,000 was allocated for each project provided with incubation support – the extension is in line with this as each contract will be extended by £33,000 for each project to be assisted.
