description

NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group ("the CCG") is currently developing its service specification for commissioning a Stoma Appliance Management Service. The CCG is undertaking further market engagement in order to seek views and opinions of organisations that may be interested in delivering the service. The purpose of this engagement is to inform the market of the CCG's intention to procure the service and to invite potential Providers to input into the draft service specification.

The service specification will require the successful Provider to deliver a Prescription Management Service for Stoma patients registered with a Liverpool GP. This will be a zero value contract, thus no upfront investment by the CCG would be required..Dispensing contractors can claim an appliance use review (AUR) fee from NHS England. No other income will be generated from the service other than payment for normal service activity associated with dispensing appliances. The Provider will be responsible for making appropriate arrangements to ensure that the service is accessible and available to all patients where the following appliances are indicated:

Colostomy bags
Ileostomy bags
Urostomy bags

The CCG is holding an Engagement Discussion Session, to discuss the service and its findings from a recent patient survey. The CCG considers both Provider and Trade Association input to be extremely valuable and all those interested are invited to attend.

The Engagement Discussion Session is planned to take place as follows:

Time: TBC

Date: Tuesday, 22nd October 2019

Location: NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group, 2 Renshaw St, Liverpool, L1 2SA

Providers are asked to confirm their attendance and places will be booked on a first come first served basis. In the event that there is greater demand to attend the Engagement Discussion Session than available slots, the CCG will endeavour to arrange an additional session.

A lack of interest being expressed in response to this invitation, may be taken as evidence by the CCG that a competitive process may not be required, so potentially interested Providers are advised to respond.

To access the draft service specification, express an interest and attend the Engagement Discussion Session, Bidders should register on https://nhssbs.eu-supply.com and look for tender reference 37348. For any technical support, please contact the e-tendering helpdesk on 0800 840 2050 or support@eu-supply.com. The CCG is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party participating in this market engagement exercise. The outputs of this exercise will not be treated as commercially confidential and may be used by the CCG in the final service specification used for the contract but no organisation will be individually identified.

NOTE:

The Engagement Discussion Session will focus on the clinical service, so please field representatives as appropriate.
