The Authority working with Welsh Government is looking for a suppliers for the provision of Post Mortum Examination Services for the purpose of farm animal surveillance. The surveillance programme purpose is to obtain appropriate information from all sections of the farm animal population for the sensitive detection of new and re-emerging animal related threats.
Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA)'s current arrangement utilising fifteen AHVLA sites and two external providers are being changed and a plan to close eight of the AHVLA sites is due to begin in April 2014. The requirement seeks the provision of data from Post Mortem Examinations in the remaining geographical locations not covered by the remaining AHVLA sites in England and Wales.
