Public Health England (PHE) has a requirement for the Fire Door Sets to be replaced at its premises in Leeds and Glasgow. The corridor and staircase door sets are an essential item of the building fire strategy and PHE have a statutory obligation to ensure these are compliant. The existing door sets in the corridors and to the staircases will be replaced with new door sets and ironmongery which meet current legislation in respect of fire and disabled access. The doors to be replaced are detailed in the drawings and Specifications provided with the invitations to tender. The work will include but not be limited to: summarised as follows:

  • Commission and undertake a Refurbishment Asbestos Survey.
  • Removal of all asbestos contsaining materials that will affect the works.
  • Remove existing doors, ironmongery, frames, linings and architraves as indicated

on the drawings and dispose off site.

  • Supply and install replacement doors, ironmongery, frames, linings and

architraves as detailed on the Drawings, and Specification.

  • Decorate the new timberwork in accordance with the Specification.

Due to the distance of the geographical locacations these projects will be run as seperate tenders. Leeds - ITT 1820 and Glasgow - ITT1828.

All Contractors are required to visit site to familiarise themselves with the site(s), access / egress arrangement etc. prior to submitting their tender.

Tenders will not be considered from any contractor who has not visited site.
